Jim Bruckner is a fourth generation plumber and plumbing
contractor heading Charles F. Bruckner & Son which
was established by his great grandfather in 1890.
Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, Mr. Bruckner
joined the company in 1971 working on a summer permit. While
completing his degree at Western Illinois University Jim
worked summers as a plumber for the family company. Following
graduation in 1975 with a B.S. in finance, he started his
plumbing apprenticeship in 1976 and earned his journeyman’s
license in 1981. In 2004, Jim received his contractor’s
license and was appointed president of the reputable company.
Mr. Bruckner was a member of Plumbers’ Local 130 from
1976 to 2004 and is currently a member of the Contractors
Association. Elected director of the Plumbing Council in
December 2006, Jim currently serves on the Finance Committee.
Jim and his wife Kathy currently live in Western Springs
and have three adult children. Cliff, his oldest, is currently
enrolled in Local 130’s apprenticeship program, continuing
the long family tradition.
In his free time, Jim enjoys fishing, hunting, and shooting
sporting clays.
