Ed Connelly of Quality Backflow Testing, Inc. has been in the industry since the age of 14 when he started working for his father’s plumbing and heating company, GF Connelly Company. In 1988, Ed founded Quality Backflow Testing, Inc. Located in Western Springs, Illinois, it is a family owned and operated business.

Prior to serving on the Plumbing Council of Chicagoland Board, Mr. Connelly was very involved in the American Backflow Prevention Association (ABPA). His participation in the ABPA began in 1990 as the IL Vice President. He then served as President from 1992-1996, and was Region 11 Director in 1997 and again from 2003-2005 covering Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky. Mr. Connelly has since returned to his position as the IL Vice President and is currently their representative to the Illinois Council of Code Administrators. In addition to being a member of the ABPA, Ed is a member of the Plumbing Contractor’s Association of Cook County and has worked for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District.

Mr. Connelly attended St. Mary’s college in Winona, MN. He and his wife Mary Ellen have four children: Kristen, Bryan, Joel, and Megan. In his free time, Mr. Connelly enjoys traveling and spending time with his grandchild.
